Developed in 2018 in conjunction with industry-leading fashion experts, our Quality Inspection operations system comprises:
Web-based module for planning and management of Inline and Final quality inspection bookings as well the planning, appointment scheduling and tracking of quality inspections
App for mobile devices used by field quality auditors in the factories (and/or QC hub at origin or destination) to carry out quality control using digital inline and final inspection apps
The solution enables instant communication of AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) results, defects, digital images and QC reports.
Coupled with our existing suite of upstream milestone tracking solutions, for example, tracking of samples, fabrics/raw materials, production milestones and QC events, our Quality Inspection System will enhance the supply chain tracking and control significantly, which in turn enables lead-time compression and ultimately supports our customers in getting the right products to the right point-of-sale at the right time.
At the time of launching the solution for Esprit Europe, a global customer of APL
Logistics, Senior Vice President Luis Gonzaga Martinez Riesgo said:
“APL Logistics’ new quality inspection platform enables Esprit to drive significant improvement of the planning and execution of our global quality inspection activities and is one of the first steps we are making further digitalize our supply chain process”, says Luis Gonzaga Martinez Riesgo, Esprit’s Senior Vice President Global Supply.
“The mobile inspection app allows our quality auditors to undertake the inline and final inspections on-site at factories using iPads. By digitizing the inspection forms in intuitive apps, we are now able to harmonize our inspection operations and instantly exchange crucial inspection data such as inspection results, photos and inspection certificates globally, which enhances our decision-making concerning testing. Further, the planning module within the new platform helps us reduce QC auditor idle times and operational delays and enables us to achieve better utilization of our quality inspection workforce, all of which are crucial elements that contribute to our mission of compressing overall product lead-time and increasing supply chain efficiencies”, Mr. Gonzaga adds.
