Customer Advisory – COVID 19 Update: Latin America (Part 1)

As the COVID 19 virus spreads globally, APL Logistics is issuing regional advisories to provide a clearer picture of possible impacts and preparations being made. APL Logistics offices in Chile, Honduras, and Peru have activated the remote-work option of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
APL Logistics offices in the Latin America region have issued these reports:
Peru: Peru has declared a State of Emergency beginning Monday, March 16th to Tuesday, March 31st. This includes transit restrictions and the suspension of all passenger flights, so we are anticipating significant air freight delays. Additionally, we are seeing delays in local services (trucking, warehousing, custom brokerage, etc.) since many companies are working with a reduced work force.
Honduras: The Honduras government declared a State of Emergency starting Monday March 16th to Monday March 23rd. Border restrictions have been implemented, with the exception of freight transportation.
Chile: The Chilean government is implementing border closures beginning Wednesday, March 18th, lasting two weeks. All passenger flights are restricted starting March 18th, break bulk cargo will continue operating via cargo aircraft only.
