Customer Advisory: Strike at the Port of Montreal
August 4, 2020
Please be advised that due to the ongoing labor dispute at the Port of Montreal, a new strike order has been issued by the Longshoremen’s Union to the Maritime Employers Association (MEA).
The strike will affect activities at the Termont container terminals: Viau and Maisonneuve terminals at the Port of Montreal. Effective Monday, August 3 at 7:00 AM through to Friday, August 7 at 6:59 PM. Then starting Friday, August 7, the port will operate from Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM. These times may be subject to changes, please check with the terminal operators prior to going to the port.
As a result of these actions, please be prepared to experience some delays in the availability of your cargo moving through the Port of Montreal as well as cargo arriving/departing for Inland points (loading/unloading to rail).
We will continue to monitor the situation and send additional updates as needed. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact your APL Logistics Account Manager or local APL Logistics office.
