Customer Advisory: Imposition of Sales Tax by Pakistan Sindh Revenue Board
September 25, 2020
With reference to the recent Pakistan Sindh Revenue Board notification (No. SRB-3-4/17/2020) on the imposition of Sindh Sales Tax on relevant logistics services which was issued on June 29, 2020, with immediate effect APL Logistics Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd will be billing an additional “Sindh Sales Tax” on all relevant logistics services invoiced on or after July 1, 2020.
All container terminals, bonded and non-bonded CFS, and transporters would need to start applying the Sindh Sales Tax retrospectively from July 1, 2020 based on the clarifications made recently on the notification issued on June 29, 2020.
As such, APL Logistics’ service partners will commence applying Sindh Sales Tax in respect of all relevant logistics services invoiced on or after July 1, 2020. APL Logistics will also bill our customers to mitigate the impact of Sindh Sales Tax payable to our service partners for input services, as well as to local government on output invoices. This will be applicable only for local invoices generated by APL Logistics Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd.
For more details on the imposition and queries related to invoices, please contact your local sales representative.
