Customer Advisory: MAERSK ESSEN – Reports of Containers Overboard
January 22, 2021
You are receiving this advisory because you may have cargo or cargo scheduled to sail on the Maersk Essen.
Please be advised that on January 16, 2021, the Maersk Essen was reported to have lost several hundred containers in heavy seas while en route to the Port of Los Angeles from Xiamen, China.
It is our understanding that this vessel will no longer be calling at the Port of Los Angeles due to Port congestion. Instead, it will be calling at the Port of Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico with a scheduled arrival date of January 26, 2021.
As we learn more about the disposition of APL Logistics’ NVOCC containers, we will issue further updates.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact your APL Logistics Account Manager or local APL Logistics office.
