Customer Advisory: MAERSK EUREKA – Reports of Breakdown of Fuel Pump

You are receiving this advisory because you may have cargo or have cargo scheduled to sail on the Maersk Eureka
Please be advised that on March 11, 2021, the Maersk Eureka was reported to have suffered a fuel pump breakdown while on a laden voyage from Yokohama to Long Beach, having previously called at Ningbo and Yangshan.
It is understood that Maersk Eureka may need to be towed to the destination or other port of refuge, which may give rise to a declaration of General Average and/or a Salvage claim.
As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you contact your cargo transportation insurers and put them on notice that your cargo was on board this vessel at the time of the incident.
As we learn more about the disposition of APL Logistics’ containers, we will issue further updates.
