Customer Advisory: MSC ARIANE – Incident on Pearl Service
April 6, 2021
You are receiving this advisory because you may have cargo or have cargo scheduled to sail on the MSC ARIANE.
Please be advised that on April 2, 2021, the containership MSC ARIANE had to stop at sea due to an engine issue en route from Xiamen, China, to Los Angeles, USA. MSC has advised that the vessel has been diverted to Wakayama, Japan, for repairs.
MSC ARIANE was expected to berth in Los Angeles on April 24. Due to the congestion in the Los Angeles area, MSC expects a schedule adjustment to this original berthing plan.
As a precautionary measure, we recommend that you contact your cargo transportation insurers and put them on notice that your cargo was on board this vessel at the time of the incident.
As we learn more about the disposition of APL Logistics’ NVOCC containers, we will issue further updates.
If you have further questions or concerns, please contact your APL Logistics Account Manager or local APL Logistics office.
