Customer Advisory: Update 1 – Canadian Labor Strike Announced
July 3, 2023,
Please note that members of the International Longshore & Warehouse Union Canada (ILWU) walked off the job on Saturday, 72 hours after the waterfront union served its strike notice. The strike has led to the suspension of consumer goods imports and most raw materials exports to and from Canada’s western Pacific coast. Talks between the dock workers and the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) are expected to resume on Monday.
